In the heart of Indiana’s Amish community, miles from the nearest town, a narrow county road winds between horse barns and green pastures. Here lies a treasure waiting to be discovered by those who appreciate the blend of tradition, aesthetics, and functionality in furniture.
Just where the road starts to curve, you’ll find a beautiful, white two-story farmhouse flanked by golden maple trees, barns, and a long, gray woodshop.
The Family Behind the Craftsmanship
This picturesque farmyard is the home of Ray and Rose, their 3 sons, 1 daughter, and their dog, Missy. Together, they embody the essence of a close-knit Amish family, whose simple yet fulfilling life revolves around their land, animals, and the skilled craft of furniture making.
The Weston Collection: Unveiling Specialty Amish Furniture
It’s also the source of some of our favorite specialty Amish furniture products—The Weston Collection. But, what do we mean when we say specialty Amish furniture? It’s about combining traditional craftsmanship with modern needs, creating pieces that are as functional as they are beautiful.
This collection includes a variety of specialized and multi-functional storage pieces for rooms throughout the house. Each piece reflects the meticulous attention to detail and the skilled craftsmanship synonymous with the Amish community.
Think of everything from a kitchen island providing counter space and storage to a solid wood TV stand with a built-in electric fireplace for a living room or family room! These pieces are designed not only to enhance the aesthetics of your home but also to add a layer of comfort and convenience.
Exclusive Bathroom Vanities
But we especially encourage you to consider their unique bathroom vanities—available exclusively at DutchCrafters—to transform your bathroom! The thoughtful design and superior build quality ensure that these vanities offer a blend of style and functionality.
Building The Weston Collection
And every one of these pieces is hand-built by Ray, occasionally with a hand from one of his children, allowing him to shape your piece of furniture through every stage of the building process. This level of personal involvement ensures that each furniture piece is not just a commodity, but a part of a cherished legacy.
Ray’s Journey
Way back in 2000, when Ray started woodworking in his home’s shop, he wanted more than just to make a living. He wanted to produce top quality furniture while staying small to have a quality family life. His story is a testament to the fulfilling life that craftsmanship, combined with family camaraderie, can provide.
Ray’s Reflection
I feel very fortunate and blessed to be able to do this. This was our dream when we started out to be able to make a living at home. I will certainly never regret the years I spent at home, especially when our kids were little and growing up, so [it] was great to be able to be here.
Supporting the Dream
With your purchase from The Weston Collection, you will receive beautiful, unique, hand-made Amish furniture to enjoy for decades to come…and in the process, your support will enable Ray to continue making outstanding furniture right here at his home wood shop. Each piece carries with it a story of tradition, family, and the pursuit of craftsmanship excellence.
