Niche online retailer JMX Brands is a Furniture Today Best Place to Work, according to the 2021 results of the annual competition that ranks which applicants are the best employers in the furniture industry. The list of winners published in a December issue of Furniture Today ranked JMX Brands No. 2 of the 20 finalists awarded a Best Place to Work. This is the first year the parent company of the largest online retailer of Amish furniture at www.dutchcrafters.com has participated in the competition.

JMX Brands CEO Jim Miller said the Sarasota-based business was founded on having “having an incredibly rich culture of engagement, recognition and values-orientation.”

“It really comes down to knowing that your work is meaningful,” said Miller.  “In our company, nearly everyone understands how their work connects with our larger vision to deliver exceptional customer experience.  Our employees own that in a big way, and they actively recognize it in themselves and their peers.”

Furniture Today’s Best Places to Work competition is managed by Best Companies Group (BCG), an organization that distributes thorough assessments and uses the results to identify outstanding places to work. To be considered for the competition, employers must fill out an online survey, and employees have the opportunity to give honest feedback by participating in a company-wide assessment.

Miller plans to continue building a positive work environment at JMX Brands through company rituals, symbols, and celebrations. “We’re really intentional about living it – more art than a formula, and more spirit than policy,” said Miller.  “We’ll keep doing this in new ways, and the results will speak for themselves.”
