From JMX Brands CEO Jim Miller: New Year Wishes

Debra Gingerich 01/01/2015

As 2014 comes to an end and we look ahead to the clean slate of hope that we find a new year, it is a natural time to reflect upon life. I am prone to do this each year, and it has become my routine to share a word with our JMX Brands & DutchCrafters customers as I do.

One of my personal highlights of 2014 was the opportunity to speak at the annual convention of Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) in Winnipeg. I’ve been involved with this fine organization since I was a college student over two decades ago. MEDA is a faith-based organization that utilizes marketplace solutions to help alleviate poverty around the world. They take roughly $6M in private donations and through partnerships with other organizations, leverage the money to produce about $42M in programs to help the poor. This is not the only solution to poverty, but one of many.

I spoke in Winnipeg about the concept of gift-giving and the inherent power that gifts bestow on both the giver and the receiver. MEDA gives the gift of hope, gift of opportunity, and the gifts of education to the recipients of MEDA programs. In nearly every country they work, those gifts are multiplied many times over as healthier economies develop.

As we emerge from a season of gift-giving, I’d like to leave this thought with you: What are the gifts that you have to share in 2015? Whether you claim a faith tradition or not, my sense is that you will find yourself richly blessed as you give to others around you.

Thank you for being one of our terrific customers. We appreciate the gift of your business and trust that you are enjoying one of our finely crafted products that in turn gives you enjoyment and meaningful function.

May 2015 bring you peace and prosperity!
