Online Amish Furniture Retailer Aims to Match $5,000 in Giving

(Sarasota, Fla., May 18, 2015) – DutchCrafters Amish Furniture, the largest Web-only retailer of Amish furniture at www.dutchcrafters.com, is the primary United States sponsor of Bike to GROW, which is raising funds for Mennonite Economic Development Associates’ (MEDA) GROW program that supports women entrepreneurs in Ghana.

Starting May 18, 2015, Mary Fehr and Sarah French will bike across Canada with the goal to raise $150,000 for GROW, Greater Rural Opportunities for Women. GROW helps women farmers access quality seeds and other supplies. The program plans to reach 20,000 women over six years.

While interns for MEDA in Tanzania and Nicaragua, Fehr and French were moved by the women impacted by MEDA’s business solutions to poverty.

“We saw a lot of inequality with females,” said French. “We thought, let’s try to help out with this.”

DutchCrafters will match up to $5,000 of giving.  Go to http://bit.ly/BIKETOGROW to give to Bike to GROW.

“It’s an honor to sponsor this initiative,” said Jim Miller, DutchCrafters owner and president of the Sarasota, Fla. MEDA chapter. “We are excited to support the women entrepreneurs of Ghana and MEDA’s continuing economic development work throughout the world.”
