How Much Does Custom Furniture Cost?

Handcrafted Amish Furniture represents a fairly affordable segment of the premium furniture market. Many people hear the words "custom furniture" and they cringe in fear of a runaway cost. The reality is, most of the furniture found on DutchCrafters is already handmade after you order it, making it more affordable than many people assume. The woodshops still have to draft new plans and charge for the extra material, labor, time, and resources used to create your heirloom-quality, customized masterpiece.

Overview

Among our stunning barn wood furniture, the Looking Glass 1869 Dining Bench captures history while offering a rich new style. The 1869 bench features a thick beam in the base, emanating the warmth of weathered wood from every angle.

About the Design

The Looking Glass 1869 Dining Bench is from the Urban Barnwood Collection that's made in Ohio. The Looking Glass 1869 sports a rustic look that also works in a contemporary setting. The simplicity of the beam demands attention and draws in the richness of aged wood.

About the Designer

Furniture designer Chase Ryan of Austin, Texas observed the process of bringing down an old barn. He studied the joinery and the techniques used in the construction of old barns. He was inspired to create an original barn wood collection in the 1869 series that includes a dining table, dining chairs, and dining benches. He started with a barn wood beam and created a masterpiece.

How Old Is the Barnwood?

This barn wood dining bench is rich in history. The wood used is oak wood from barns that date back to the early 1800s around the time the first railway was laid and the first steam trains were designed! There's age, strength, and unique character in this one-of-a-kind dining bench.

Own Your Own Urban Barnwood

Invest in an Urban Barnwood design and own your own piece of history. This dining bench is available in 4 sizes and your choice of finish. You can choose to keep the rugged, natural look and feel of the barn wood, or opt to have the nail and knot holes filled for a smoother look and feel.

  • Measures 16" wide, 17" high, and choice of 60", 72", 84" or 96" long
  • Choice of finish color including two-tone finish options
  • Option to have nail and knot holes filled

Barnwood makes for a unique, strong, and stunning presentation in your home furniture collection.
