Overview
Our Amish handcrafted Pressback chair have a nostalgic feel. Back in the 1800s and early 1900s these dining chairs and kitchen chairs were a popular catalog order often sold for less then $1.00. The design looks carved but is actually stamped into the chairs using a large roller that presses the design into the chair back wood. The pressed design was much more affordable then a dining chair with a carved design. The press back chair is an important part of furniture in American history and we are happy to our Amish woodworkers are continuing on this chair tradition.
Delicate details and rounded, undulating slats and legs make this a popular choice for the country chair enthusiast. Have these Amish chair specialists craft this chair in your favorite hardwood and stain, or select the classic oak. Call with questions or ordering assistance.
