Looking for a ladder back dining room chair with versatility?  The Greenland Transitional Dining Chair has been waiting to meet you!

The beautiful, American made dining chair holds its own in any style dining room with its regal stature and graceful but sturdy lines.  It can also be used in a relatively informal dining room - given its simplicity and utilitarian dimensions.  The contemporary feel and ladder back design come together to make a modern masterpiece without losing the touch of care that the Amish woodworker instills in it. This solid wood dining room chair is available as a side chair, arm chair, or a caster-based desk chair.

Made of solid hardwoods, this dining chair is handcrafted amidst the cornfields of Amish Country, near Shipshewana, Indiana.  The Yoder family has been making dining room furniture there for more than a generation, passing along the craft of chair-making from father to son.  The women in the family are included too, by the way.  Amish teenagers learn the trade as they cut, sand and finish the parts that go into making the Greenland Dining Chair and the other dining chairs that are part of this collection.

The Greenland Dining Chair, like all of our dining room furniture at DutchCrafters, is proudly made in America.  It is part of a cottage industry that supports small, rural Amish woodshops that specialize in the production of handcrafted, personalized furniture.  Learn more about the benefits of American made dining room furniture.

With a large variety of wood and stain options, the Greenland Dining Chair can be personalized to your individual preferences. Choose from traditional oak wood or the warm and graceful beauty of cherry wood.

Reviews

I had been on the search for quality-made, sturdy, all-wood chairs for a couple years, searching the ends of the Internet and countless stores (including the well-known, behemoth North Carolina furniture dealers) with no luck. Either I didn’t like the style, the craftsmanship, or the price. I stumbled on Dutch Crafters and kept coming back to peruse the site. I then found some chairs I really liked, but I wasn’t a huge fan of purchasing an item that I wasn’t able to test out beforehand. After all, a lot of time is spent sitting at our kitchen table, and I wanted chairs that would last not just years, but decades. I wanted chairs like the ones I grew up with: heirloom chairs that had taken years of beatings and still looked great and functioned well.

Dutch Crafters assuaged all my concerns. They took the time to answer all my questions and offer suggestions (thank you, Kaili!). They made the process super easy. I couldn’t decide on a stain finish and wood, so they sent me samples (super fast!), so I could see them in my house.

When the chairs came, they exceeded all my expectations. These are heavy (i.e., kids can’t knock them over), well-finished (i.e., kids can’t easily destroy them) things of beauty. They serve every purpose I needed and more. Whoever said you can’t have nice things when you have little ones clearly has never heard of Dutch Crafters!
