Amish Dining Tables
Handcrafted Queen Anne Furniture
In the early part of the 18th century, Queen Anne was on the throne in Great Britain, and the furniture style that was developed in that time takes its name from her reign. Compared to previous styles, Queen Anne Furniture was both more comfortable and less heavy, while incorporating some unique design elements.
Queen Anne chairs were often padded, and the wing-backs seen on Queen Anne chairs were also a common feature. The French influence is seen in the Cabriole leg, a very recognizable feature of Queen Anne furniture that is often incorporated into Queen Anne dining room furniture, such as tables and Queen Anne dining chairs. Rather than focusing on ornamentation, Queen Anne furniture emphasized form and line, a quality that is well implemented by the skilled Amish craftsmen who provide all of our pieces.
